Phonics:
It's all about the letter T this week. Help your child recognize the /t/ sound by finding items around the house that begin with this sound. For example, /t/ for toast, /t/ for tea, /t/ for Tupperware. This is a good time to point out rhyming words (i.e., top, hop, mop, etc.)
In class we will be reading Dig, Dig, Digging (Look at the first link under the Reading Street Unit 1 Books for more info.
Please help your child match Uppercase and Lowercase letters A-Z. Searching through magazines and/or newspapers is a fun way to find upper and lower-case letters. If you want to send in some pics of T words, we could make a class alphabet book. Think creatively -- pictures of T-shirts, teabag wrappers, etc.
